Step 6 of 12 · Ch 4, 7, 13
6. PC & Mach3 + UC100
Genuine UC100, Premier profile, dry motion proof.
Use a dry test whenever a live arc is not required — plasma power off or torch-firing output safely disabled.
Never bypass the emergency stop, limit circuit, charge pump, enclosure interlock, or protective earth to keep production running.
Machine-specific profiles, wiring diagrams, pin maps, motor tuning, and cut charts always override generic examples. Escalate when unsure.
1. Computer and UC100 startup
2. Dry motion proof (torch disabled)
Plasma off or torch command safely disabled. Release E-stop; Reset in Mach3. Jog X/Y/Z at low speed; confirm direction. Prove slaved gantry sides together. Test home/limit inputs on Diagnostics before full homing. Measure a commanded 1" or 10" move. Run the two-inch square G-code above the plate with torch disabled.
Warning: Stop immediately if an axis runs into a hard stop or motion is uncontrolled.
3. Floating head / probe
With plasma off, confirm probe input changes cleanly when the plate is lifted. Run Premier touch-off at low speed ready to stop. Measure switch offset only via approved machine procedure.
