Ch 7
Mach3 everyday operation checklist
Start of day, zeros, dry run, Reset / Feed Hold / E-stop behavior.
⚠ Safety — Never bypass safety circuits
Never bypass the emergency stop, limit circuit, charge pump, enclosure interlock, or protective earth to keep production running.
⚠ Caution — Dry test first
Use a dry test whenever a live arc is not required — plasma power off or torch-firing output safely disabled.
Symptom
Need a reliable daily Mach3 startup and zeroing routine.
Quick checks
- ☐Correct Premier profile
- ☐UC100 connected before clearing Reset
- ☐E-stop and limits normal
Fix
Start of day
- Inspect table, torch, cables, work lead, air, area
- Power in Premier-approved order; start Mach3 with correct profile
- Confirm UC100; clear Reset only when safe
- Home/reference if equipped; soft limits only after valid home
- Load G-code; inspect path, extents, units, feed, offset
- Set work X/Y zero to SheetCAM origin; approved Z touch-off
- Dry run new programs with torch disabled / Z raised when practical
- Live cut while watching first pierce
Coordinates
Machine coordinates = referenced travel. Work coordinates = part origin. Zeroing work DRO does not change machine home. Soft limits need correct machine coordinates.
