Parts wrong size or not square
Separate units/kerf/CAM from real lost motion and gantry square.
Record the starting condition, make one controlled change, and test again. Restore the original setting if the change did not help.
Use a dry test whenever a live arc is not required — plasma power off or torch-firing output safely disabled.
Machine-specific profiles, wiring diagrams, pin maps, motor tuning, and cut charts always override generic examples. Escalate when unsure.
Symptom
Finished parts measure wrong, diagonals unequal, or holes cut after the part drops.
Quick checks
- ☐Confirm CAD export units match SheetCAM import (inch vs mm)
- ☐Simulate cut order — interiors before exterior
- ☐Dry measured 1" or 10" move; compare to DRO
Fix
Size
Kerf too small/large or wrong offset side → measure exterior and interior, adjust kerf once. Enormous/tiny geometry → units. Motion consistent ratio error → steps/unit only after proving mechanics unchanged vs Premier backup.
Square / holes last
Unequal rectangle diagonals → square gantry per Premier procedure; check slave axis. Holes last → SheetCAM optimization / keep-parts-together; verify simulation.
